Entrepreneur Identity Crisis: What to Expect and How to Reinvent Yourself to Be A More Authentic and Happy Mompreneur
Have you ever questioned your career or business path? On my entrepreneurial journey, I realized that an identity crisis allowed me to start living more authentically as a business owner and mom. Usually our identity – or our beliefs and sense of self – is created over decades of living on autopilot (listen to last week’s episode for more on that topic).
In this episode, I talk about how I had an identity crisis as a mompreneur and how that process helped me rebuild a new identity as an entrepreneur that was authentic and helped me realize my strengths and abilities to help my clients.
Here are 5 helpful tips for overcoming an identity crisis:
- Take an honest inventory of yourself: Take time to get to know yourself better by reflecting on your values, strengths, and weaknesses. Ask yourself what truly matters to you and what you want out of life.
- Establish a support system: Reach out to close friends and family who can provide you with a different perspective and listen to your feelings. Having a trusting support system can help you get through difficult times.
- Don’t be afraid to take risks: Taking risks and pushing yourself out from your comfort zone can help you gain new experiences. Even if you make mistakes along the way, you’ll learn valuable lessons and gain insight about yourself.
- Take care of your physical and mental health: It’s important to take care of your physical and mental health during an identity crisis. Make sure to get enough sleep, eat healthy foods, and get plenty of exercise. You should also practice mindfulness and other relaxation techniques to help reduce stress and anxiety.
- Find your purpose: Find activities and hobbies that you enjoy and that bring you joy. Don’t be afraid to try something new or take on a challenging task. When you find something that you’re passionate about, it can help you gain a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.
